THREE IN A ROW FOR MALLARDS

Goals from Jason McCartney and Liam Martin helped Ballinamallard United clock up a third successive victory at the expense of Dungannon Swifts.

Dungannon started brightly, coming close on seven minutes when Ryan Harpur saw his effort from outside the area well held by Stefan McCusker followed soon after by a David McCullough drive just wide of the target.

The Mallards moved in front on 17 minutes after Martin was brought down in the area with McCartney tucking the resultant penalty into the top corner.

Raymond Foy might have made it 2-0 on 23 minutes only to fire over from distance.

Then, just after the half-hour mark, McCusker protected Ballinamallard's lead with a superb stop from an Aaron Burns drive that looked destined for the top corner just moments after Gary Liggett had crossed from the right for Jamie Douglas to head wide.

Ryan Campbell came close just before the hour mark for Ballinamallard when his effort from the left was saved by Rouse while Matt Hazley drew a save from McCusker at the other end soon after.

But the Mallards did double their lead on 72 minutes after Martin fired across Rouse into the bottom corner.
