STEWART CLAIMS MATCH BALL IN COMFORTABLE GLENS WIN

A Jordan Stewart hat-trick was the highlight of this comfortable victory for Glentoran at Milltown.

The opening half-an-hour or so produced little in front of goal with Daniel Hughes perhaps having the best chance when he was picked out by Ciaran O'Connor only to finish poorly.

Glentoran's best chance was a Niall Henderson 25-yard effort which drifted just wide before, ten minutes from the break, they moved in front through Stewart who beat Jonathan Parr with a composed finish.

'Point might have levelled before the break through Stephen Hughes only for his effort to be well tipped away by Elliott Morris.

But Stewart doubled Glentoran's lead within two minutes of the restart with a close range free header from Henderson's free-kick.

And it was 3-0 seven minutes after that after John Boyle was dispossessed by Danny McKee before driving the ball home.

Stewart then grabbed his hat-trick with ten minutes remaining after converting from the spot after substitute Johnny Breen lashed out in the area, picking up a straight red card for his trouble.

Steven Gordon completed the scoring four minutes later after finishing off a Fra McCaffrey cross.
