STEWART CANCELS OUT McMAHON'S EARLY OPENER

Portadown started brightly, having penalty appeals waved away by referee Colin Burns as early as the fourth minute following claims that Niall Henderson handled a Michael Gault header on the line.

Peter McMahon did find a way through after just 11 minutes when he unleashed an unstoppable effort past Elliott Morris from the edge of the area.

It took the Glens a little while to get into the game with their best effort of the first half coming into the closing minutes when Stephen McAlorum fired just over from 20 yards.

After the break Curtis Allen might have levelled only to turn the ball just wide from a Henderson delivery around the hour mark.

But the equaliser did come on 73 minutes when David Scullion delivered the ball from the left for Kym Nelson to flick on before Jordan Stewart slid it in at the far post.

Chris Casement might have secured all three points for the Ports moments from the end with a curling free-kick that crashed back off the inside of a post.
