SKY BLUES MAKE IT FIVE ON THE BOUNCE
18th Apr 2015
Ballymena United made it five wins in a row to secure seventh spot in the Danske Bank Premiership.
Neal Gawley opened the scoring on 29 minutes with a first time finish under 'keeper Adam Murphy after connecting with a Mark Surgenor cross.
Prior to that Matt Tipton had the ball in the net from a Gawley cross but the assistant referee ruled the 'goal' out offside.
The Sky Blues might have doubled their lead early in the second half when, from a Tony Kane ball, David Cushley crossed from the left for Darren Boyce to turn the ball just wide at the back post.
Ballymena's second goal did arrive with seven minutes remaining when a Kane free-kick deflected into the path of substitute Eamon McAllister to fire home.
The Mallards grabbed a late consolation three minutes later through Cathal Beacom after firing past Tim Allen when a Jason McCartney free-kick wasn't cleared by the home defence.
