PARKHILL DOUBLE GUIDES BANNSIDERS TO RARE WIN

Coleraine grabbed their first win in ten outings with this defeat of Warrenpoint Town at The Showgrounds.

The Bannsiders needed just four minutes to move in front through Ian Parkhill who collected a Neil McCafferty cross from the left before chesting the ball down and smashed a tremendous effort beyond Johnny Parr.

Jamie McGonigle and Ruairi Harkin might have extended Coleraine's lead in an otherwise quiet first half which saw neither side offer much in front of goal.

Harkin had a hand in Coleraine's second on 53 minutes when he brought the ball into the area, held off a couple of defenders before teeing Parkhill up to double his tally for the afternoon.

Darren Forsyth might have pulled one back for 'Point early in the second half with a 25-yard snapshot which home 'keeper Andy Findlay did well to turn away at full stretch.

Parkhill will feel he should have grabbed his hat-trick midway through the second half after collecting the ball from Darren McCauley only to fire straight at Parr.

Barry Gray's visitors reduced the arrears with four minutes to go after a great Johnny Frazer solo run saw him fire against the post with Stephen Hughes pouncing to slam home the rebound.
