McCAFFERTY FREE-KICK EARNS BANNSIDERS A POINT AT WINDSOR

Neil McCafferty smashed home a stoppage time free-kick to earn Coleraine a point from this visit to morning leaders Linfield.

The Blues might have moved in front after a quarter-of-an-hour when Reece Glendinning teed up Sammy Morrow to head against the base of an upright.

Just prior to that Ian Parkhill tested Ross Glendinning with a 25-yard right-foot drive but, apart from that one chance, Linfield enjoyed most of what was created with Aaron Burns drilling low past an upright after half-an-hour before Morrow saw a volley blocked at the back post.

Andrew Waterworth just missed a great chance within a minute of the restart after he narrowly failed to connect with a Ross Clarke ball into the box at the near post.

The deadlock was eventually broken in Linfield's favour on 59 minutes when a Ross Clarke cross was knocked back by Ivan Sproule for Waterworth to tap home from a yard out.

Chasing the game, Coleraine offered up a couple of Michael Hegarty efforts before Parkhill fired straight at Glendinning when through on goal.

But it looked like Linfield had done enough to secure the points until the fifth minute of added time when Sean Ward conceded a free-kick some 30 yards from goal with McCafferty stepping up to fire a right-foot drive up and over the wall into the top corner.
