GLENAVON TWICE COME FROM BEHIND TO CLAIM POINTS

Glenavon twice came from behind to defeat Warrenpoint Town at Mourneview Park and move into third spot in the table.

Warrenpoint raced into the lead as early as the second minute through Ruairi Devlin after he tapped home a low Daniel Hughes cross.

The visitors might have levelled soon after when James Singleton got his head to a Kyle Neill corner only for the ball to be cleared off the line.

However, they did equalise on 17 minutes thanks to player boss Gary Hamilton after Andrew McGrory laid off a Kevin Braniff ball.

But 'Point regained the advantage on 25 minutes when a slip by Gareth McKeown allowed Johnny Breen in to fire into the bottom corner.

And he really should have doubled his tally a short time later after taking the ball past a couple of defenders before somehow failing to hit the target with the goal at his mercy.

Glenavon forced their way back into the game once more on 61 minutes when Braniff delivered an expertly struck free-kick beyond Martin Marron into the top corner.

The Lurgan Blues then sealed the points with just four minutes remaining when Singleton slid in at the back post to touch home a Rhys Marshall header across the face of goal.

'Point ended the game with ten men following when Mark Hughes was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
