BLUES BLITZ 'POINT WITH THREE EARLY GOALS

Linfield raced into an early lead with two goals inside the opening ten minutes.

Ross Clarke fired the Blues in front on seven minutes after getting on the end of a Sean Ward ball to beat the offside trap and turn an effort past Johnny Parr.

Then, within sixty seconds, Sammy Morrow made it 2-0 with a chip over the Warrenpoint 'keeper after Jamie Mulgrew flicked the ball into space.

And it was 3-0 on 19 minutes when Mulgrew connected with only a partially cleared cross to deliver the ball into the opposite corner from around 20 yards.

Ross Clarke almost added a fourth a few minutes from half-time only for Parr to produce an excellent save to tip his cross over the bar.

Morrow might have doubled his own tally on the hour after getting behind the defence only to send a right-footed effort wide of an upright while later chances followed from Stephen Lowry, Aaron Burns and Andy Waterworth as Linfield looked to add to their lead.
