BANNSIDERS AND GLENS SHARE THE SHOWGROUNDS POINTS

Curtis Allen came closest to breaking the deadlock early on with a free-kick from outside the box which 'keeper Michael Doherty spilled the ball before recovering to gather at the second attempt.

But the Glens did move in front on 22 minutes through Steven Gordon after he got on the end of a long punt forward to steer the ball into the net.

David Scullion might have added a second soon after with a curling effort just wide of the target.

Shane McGinty will feel he should have levelled for the Bannsiders when, from a Matthew Snoddy knock on, he had a number of attempts in front of goal but couldn't quite get a strong enough connection.

McGinty came even closer early in the second half after collecting another Snoddy ball, this time turning his shot in off the inside of the left post.

Coleraine did get their equaliser, however, eight minutes from time after Darren McCauley pounced to clean up the loose ball after Elliott Morris had blocked a Gary Browne effort.
